Connecting to Account/Master Server

After downloading and installing the game from Steam, I am unable to connect to either the account server to register, nor even the master server to deny my false login info, despite forwarding the 24816 port as mentioned in a number of other threads.  Is there some other port used for the authentication servers, or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

I’m having the exact same problem, I believe, it’s telling me to try again later after entering the verification code, and if I try to use a false ID it says it the connection timed out.
I haven’t tried port-forwarding because I don’t know how to, though I do have my steam download area set to US-Phoenix (I live in Taiwan) if it makes a difference.

EDIT: I restarted my computer a second time, it works fine now!  Yay!  Try doing that.

The master server communicates on port 14343 but unless you are blocking outgoing traffic you shouldn’t have to do any forwarding for that.

Having the same problem, even after forwarding (and confirming the port is open) it still gives me the same issue,
there is no program that tries to block the game, I still get the time out error, but it worked yesterday (had to open the port first), but today it just doesn’t work.

Indeed, even after opening up port 14343 along with 24816, I am still unable to connect to the account or master servers.  Fairly frustrating, and it appears there are a number of others on the forum with the same problem.  I live on a university, though I’ve already talked with the ITS department about this, and beyond opening these ports I don’t know if there’s anything else to be done.

Restarting computer, reinstalling after deleting local content and the remaining folder, attempting to connect through a proxy; none of these helped.

In Illinois, just west of Chicago.  I believe this campus’ ISP is AT&T as well, if that’s any use.

Already done, unless they managed to open the wrong ones.

I suppose I could double check.

Edit: But would that still prevent connection to the account/master servers if they got the 24816 port wrong?

I’m trying to play this at work, but our firewall blocks all outgoing ports above 5000. I guess this would count as a feature request, but if you ran the master server on port 80 or 443, it’d be more compatible with retarded firewall policies.

I’ve been having problems connecting too. I haven’t forwarded the port because I don’t know how, could that be the problem? I live in Eastern Canada, at home, so firewalls shouldn’t be an issue.

I simply have no idea how to get a username. I don’t think it’s the forum username it wants, and there is no register button, just a login screen.
